The IT Operation Management (ITOM) Engineer will focus on the ServiceNow ITOM Discovery capabilities and ensuring the integrity of Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The role will be part of the Configuration and Asset Management Team to support the organisation’s state-wide Discovery as a Service (DiaaS) offering.
Key responsibilities

  • Day to day administration of the ServiceNow Discovery tool including MID Servers configuration and maintenance
  • Maintain the integrity of the Discovery tool across production and non-production environments
  • Support the implementation of State-wide Discovery as a Service (DiaaS) offering.
  • Adherence to the organisation’s IT Service Management (ITSM) practices and SDLC process
  • Understanding of enterprise systems with experience in some or all of the following hardware and software: Microsoft server and SQL, Linux, Citrix, VMware, Netware, Solaris, Oracle, SANs, Network Devices, HP & IBM Unix servers and Storage systems
  • Understanding and experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS and VMWare Cloud infrastructure

To be successful in this role you must have the below:

  1. ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
  2. ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery
  3. Experience using an Agile and/or DevOps Methodology/Approach in delivery work packages
  4. Excellent problem-solving ability and the ability to translate high-level strategic business objectives into business process and/or technology solutions
  5. Experience holding workshops, facilitating discussions and assisting business stakeholders to anticipate future needs and opportunities
  6. Analytical skills to evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details
  7. Develop process documentation including procedures, work instructions and workflows
  8. ITIL certified and strong knowledge of subject areas such as Configuration Management and CMDB, IT Services, Incident Management, Problem Management, Request Fulfillment, Change Management, and Continual Service Improvement
  9. Proven experience working with both IT teams and end users
  10. Excellent communications skills, customer focus and the ability to influence at all levels
  11. ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) Software Asset Management (SAM) Implementer (highly regarded)
