Drupal Back End Developer

* 12 mnths contract
* Up to $950 per day + SUper
* Location: Mac Park/ WFH

One of our clients, a large government agency is recruiting a Drupal Back End Developer to join their busy team
The role will also contribute to the development, implementation, coordination, and delivery of customer-centric digital solutions to enable the accessibility and availability of information for internal and external customers.
Key accountabilities:

  • Developing high-quality software design and architecture
  • Assuming technical responsibility for all stages of the software development process
  • Developing tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
  • Design, execute and automate acceptance testing to improve the quality and reduce operational risk
  • Review and debug code and ensure software is up-to-date with the latest technologies

Essential Requirements:

  • Active in Drupal project open source
  • Expert knowledge of PHP 5 and PHP 7
  • Expert in Drupal 8/9 module/theme customisation work
  • Ability to write PHP unit tests, Gherkin/Cucumber is desirable
  • Experience working with Composer and modern package management tools
  • Significant experience in Drupal CI/CD and cloud technologies
  • Experience building mobile-first, responsive websites with API driven development
  • Sound knowledge of web technologies (HTML/SASS/CSS/Javascript)
  • Sound understanding in Git/Gitflow
  • Sound understanding of Symfony/Silex and other PHP frameworks
  • Sound understanding of Twig/Mustache/Handlebars templating
  • Experience in cross-browser development
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in the IT industry
  • Experience working on Agile projects, preferably using Scrum


  • Building and maintaining professional and productive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and parties with diverse and, in some cases, conflicting agendas
  • Maintaining up-to-date and best practice knowledge on cloud technology and security.
  • Contributing to departmental objectives and programs where there is resistance at some levels through negotiation and influencing improved stakeholder engagement processes and effective consultation and communication.
