Sydney CBD | Boutique Accounting & Advisory Firm
An established boutique accounting and advisory firm based in Sydney CBD is looking to add a Senior Business Services & Tax Accountant to their growing team. The firm works with High Net Worth Individuals, family groups and their associated businesses, providing a combination of Business Services, Tax, Virtual CFO and Estate Planning services.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Business Services & Tax Accountant who enjoys working closely with clients and wants exposure to more than just compliance.
The Role
Working across a portfolio of private clients and their businesses, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and reviewing financial accounts and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and other structures
- Managing Business Services and tax compliance across a diverse client portfolio
- Preparing BAS, IAS and other statutory requirements
- Providing tax planning and general tax advice
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
- Working with clients and their advisers to understand their broader financial and business needs
- Assisting with Virtual CFO services and business advisory projects
- Liaising with clients, auditors, financial advisers, lawyers and other professional advisers
- Supporting more complex client matters and ad hoc advisory work as required
You will ideally have:
- CA/CPA qualification or be working towards completion
- 3+ years' experience in Business Services and Tax within an Australian accounting firm
- Strong experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across a range of entity types
- Good knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience working directly with clients and managing your own portfolio
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A commercial mindset and an interest in understanding the broader needs of clients
- Experience with Xero and/or similar accounting software
