We are partnering with a purpose-driven organisation seeking an experienced Accountant to join their finance team. The organisation specialises in social and youth services. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on position with responsibility across financial reporting, audit, statutory compliance, payroll, and process improvement.
This role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, partnering with stakeholders across the business, and playing a key role in maintaining the integrity and compliance of the organisation's finance function.
The Opportunity
Financial Accounting & Business Support
- Taking ownership of month-end and year-end financial reporting activities
- Producing accurate financial information to support business decision-making
- Acting as the key contact for external auditors and managing the annual audit process
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Overseeing payroll operations and ensuring ongoing compliance with legislative requirements
- Managing statutory reporting obligations and key regulatory lodgements
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to maintain strong financial controls
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and reporting across the finance function
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- 5+ years' experience in a Financial Accountant or Company Accountant role
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
- Proven experience managing payroll end-to-end
- Experience managing audits and statutory reporting obligations
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Report directly to the CFO and gain exposure to key organisational decision-making
