About the Role
As Group Accountant, you will play a central role in ensuring the organisation’s finance operations run smoothly and effectively. Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, managing payroll, and supporting decision-making across the organisation. This is a hands-on role with oversight of all key finance areas including:
- Accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management
- Payroll (end-to-end fortnightly process)
- Debtors and accounts payable
- Financial systems management and policy governance
- Statutory and government reporting (GST/FBT, Census, and other regulatory requirements)
- Ownership of Financial Year End/ Audit Processes
What You’ll Bring
- CPA, CA, or IPA qualification (essential)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting/finance role
- Proven experience in regulated or complex not-for-profit environments (aged care, NDIS, schools or similar)
- Strong technical accounting skills with experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Payroll expertise, including superannuation, leave provisions, and statutory reporting
- Hands-on, proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership of finance processes
- Confident communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
