Project Overview

Welcome to Quay Appointments. We are embarking on a very exciting project on behalf of the NSW Electoral Commission.

Quay Appointments will staff three centres: Enquiry Centre, Postal Vote Centre and Count Centre. The hours of work, days of work and start dates vary for each job. Refer below for more information.

We are hoping to offer many of our 2015 and 2016 Elections Team positions in the 2017 Local Government Elections. Given the volume of staff required we will recruit more personnel over July and August 2017 to ensure we have plenty of skilled and experience staff available to fill all job vacancies.

All Centres will be located in Riverwood a 15 minute walk from the train station with buses operating during the day.

Enquiry Centre, Riverwood

Monday to Friday
Hours: 8.30 to 4.30 or 9.00 to 5.00 + Election Day Saturday 9 September (Enquiry Centre will be open 8am to 6pm on Election. All staff must be available to work on Election Day)

Enquiry Centre:

The EEC is classed as a pop up high volume call centre. Daily call volumes in the lead up to LGE 2017 Election Day may peak at 6000 calls. This is an inbound call centre.  All enquiries about the 2017 Local Government Election will be answered by the Centre’s staff utilising a computer based question and answer application.  The Centre will respond to enquiries from all over the state.

The Centre operates from 17 July to 12 September and operational hours are from 8.30am to 5.00pm. Quay Appointments’ are recruiting a team of 50 Customer Service Officers to answer Elector’ questions.  Customer Service Officers will have 12 months Call Centre or Customer Service experience, clear and concise communication skills, good computer skills to navigate intranet and applications and a good team spirit.

All training is completed on site.  The EEC management team is focused on providing all agents with tools to help them resolve all client enquiries. These tools include a ‘desk top’ Agent manual, an applications ‘Quick Guide’ and an intranet driven Script (FAQ) referencing tool

Hourly Rate of Pay:

Customer Service Officer
Mon to Friday: $27.00
Saturday: $40.50 for the first 3 hours and $54.00 thereafter
Sunday: $54.00

Start Date: Staggered start dates from 2 August 2017 (refer above for intake dates)

Count Centre:

Is set up to process the results from the 2017 Local Government Elections.  NSWEC are expecting to receive over 4.7 million ballot papers, from all over the state, at the Count Centre.  The Count Centre will process results by counting and collating ballot papers ready for preferences to be data entered into a computerised vote counting program.

We are recruiting a team of 120 Data Entry Operators, 168 Batching Clerks, 6 Runners, 6 Data Entry Supervisors, 17 Batch Supervisors and 10 Gate Keepers to collate and key the results of the 2017 Local Government Elections.

Batching Clerks will be meticulously sorting, counting and collating ballot papers ready for data entry.

Batching Clerk: We require a minimum of 6 months clerical/administration experience in a similar role, ability to follow strict guidelines, high level of accuracy, willingness to undertake repetitive work and available to work for all hours and all dates (dates listed above).

Data Entry duties include reading ballot papers and recording relevant numeric data in a specifically designed system for calculating election results. Information from each paper will be data entered twice for verification.  Work will be allocated to operators in batches from Districts in NSW.

Your speed and accuracy will be monitored during each shift: Should you not meet the required standard you may be replaced with one hours’ notice.

Data Entry Officer: Our team will require a minimum numerical data entry speed of 8000ksph with high levels of accuracy, exceptional attention to detail and flexibility to work in an ever changing work environment.  You will be a quick learner with a strong team spirit.  Experience in numeric data entry is highly desirable.  Given the short term nature of the project we are looking for experienced personnel who are available to work for all hours and all dates (dates listed above).

Batching Clerk/Runner/Gate Keeper
Mon to Friday: $24.65
Saturday: $36.75 for the first 3 hours and $49.00 thereafter
Sunday: $44.22

Postal Vote Centre:

It is estimated 250,000 postal vote applications will be processed in this Centre. The role of the centre will be to receipt, sort and data enter postal vote applications into the NSWEC election system and other basic clerical tasks generated as a result of postal applications.  Customer Service personnel will assist with Postal Vote application enquiries and may be required to call out and follow up missing information.

The Centre will operate Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm (as per details above).  We require a team of 28 Mail Clerks, 1 Enquiry Supervisor, 3 Data Entry Officers and 3 Print Officers.

The Postal Vote Centre will open 31 July and operate up 5 September 2017.

Location
The project will operate from a refurbished warehouse in Sydney’s South West:
Confidential site in Riverwood. The closest Train Station is Riverwood, approximately a 15-minute walk.

Parking
There is limited street parking and strictly NO on-site parking.

All work has been assessed on expected quantity of ballot papers however as this quantity is not known until after Election Day we can only estimate at this time therefore the proposed end dates may change.
