3rd May Breakfast - Personal Branding
Presented by Elena Reed

As you know Quay Appointments are a very keen supporter of Dress for Success (DFS - www.dressforsuccess.org) DFS is a non-for-profit organisation that support economically disadvantaged women. They provide free professional attire and styling to help build self-esteem and economic independence and given the subject matter of our May breakfast I thought it would be a great idea to link it to a clothing collection and fund raiser.

We invite you to bring along any retired office attire for Donation to DFS, or alternatively just give us a call and we will arrange to collect at any time.

Bring along a small Donation if you wish, as entry to the breakfast, additionally there will be some great raffle prizes and of course great presentation from Elena Reed (www.elenareed.com.au) full of practical simple and amazing tips for males and females to lift your personal profile.

This is a great opportunity to start making some room in the wardrobe for new winter clothes.

"Drug and Alcohol at work - What Managers need to know"

Presented by: Michael White
5th April, 2011

It's a sobering fact that almost 70% of illegal drug abusers are employed. Drugs are not just expensive and damaging for staff with drug habits, but the impact upon a business can be crippling. Each year the drug problem has increased, and is now one of the greatest safety issues that organisations and Governments face.

Some businesses find out too late how financially damaging a reputation for lenient drug culture may be.

This session will provide an insight into the extent and consequences of Drug and Alcohol at workplace and some practical advice into:

  • What is a drug safe workplace
  • What should be in a good Drug-Safe Workplace program
  • How to identify a drug problem
  • Prepare your Drug and Alcohol Policy
  • How to approach the concept of a Drug-Safe Workplace with your staff

Michael White is the Managing Director of Frontline Diagnostics, a business that conducts alcohol and drug screening throughout the mining, transport, construction, food manufacturing and Government workplaces throughout Australia.

Michael is a regular lecturer on alcohol and other drugs at Sydney University and was commissioned by the Australian Crime Commission to deliver Drug Awareness workshops to their internal staff. So … it just proves, he couldn’t totally avoid working with the Police in some capacity.

Michael is currently building the Drug-Safe Australia Foundation to address other increasingly important problems such as Drug-Safe Community, Drug-Safe Sports and Drug-Safe School programmes.
