It's cool to be pink!

For the entire month of October,
Quay Appointments is supporting Breast Cancer.

We look forward to welcoming
you to our special breakfast
seminar on the 27th October.

We will be making a donation for
each attendee, and we have a fabulous door prize of Pink Ribbon merchandise. Additionally look
out for your delivery of
pink jelly beans.

Having lost 3 friends in the
last 4 years this resonates for
me. Even within the Quay
community our lives have been touched so we are keen to make a contribution to the charity.

"Retaining your Talent after the GFC"

Presented by: Don Holley
27th October, 2009
  • What measures has your company taken to survive?
  • What HR factors are critical to succeed in the upturn?
  • Leading the leadership!
  • What happened to the "War for Talent"?
  • So has the Talent Shortage gone?
  • What can Managers do to minimise the potential tensions of newcomers when the existing staff have stuck with the business through the tough times?

A very traditional knee jerk reaction to a economic downturn and most commonly with the US or European based parent companies who execute a global or 'blanket' reduction in force (RIF) under the premise of a 'share the pain' approach that then impacts a subsidiary that is relatively healthy or growing.

Good quality staff know their value and are confident and marketable, this is why they are your best they are the ones that pull you through the hard times, however start losing them and you may create a domino effect and even with job losses occurring there are still more people leaving the Australian workforce than are entering it.

Don Holley is Managing Director of Mindset Group and has spent the majority of his working career with large retailers to a senior management level, where he gained significant people management, operational and commercial experience. After completing his MBA, Don consulted in many areas of Organisational Development working with individual and teams across Industries such as Pharmaceutical, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, Manufacturing, Financial Services and FMCG. Other areas of expertise include the implementation of role clarity practices, performance management systems, and change management programs during mergers and acquisitions.

So come and join us for this interactive session where Don will explore some must do's, and some pitfalls to avoid, together with strategies to regain and lift morale and motivation on Tuesday 27th October, 2009.
