Maximising Your Vocal Power
| Presented by: |
Cate Madill
7th March, 2006 |
What does your voice say about you?
What is the voice of your employees saying about your company or product?
40% of employees in the developed world are defined as voice professionals, that is, they need their voice to do their job. The increased reliance on telecommunications to do business now means that the voice is the primary mode of communicating impressions and attitudes in many work environments, such as call centres and global business interactions. Vocal health and effectiveness are rarely recognised as important areas of occupational performance in the workplace, yet we are judged on not only the sound of our voice but the way that we use it.
This presentation will provide you with:
- an understanding of what impact the sound of the voice has on communicative effectiveness
- the key elements of vocal performance that can be changed to enhance communication
- guidelines for looking after your voice to ensure you are maximising your vocal power!
Cate Madill, BA (Hons), BAppSc (Hons), CPSP, is a fully qualified Speech Pathologist and Voice specialist. She has an established private practice in Sydney and runs specialised workshops for different occupational groups in vocal skills for increased communicative effectiveness. She also works as an educator and is undertaking a PhD in voice and personality perception.
